The work Hand in Hand No.1 by Quentin Blake was sold in the Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration auction at Bonhams in London in October this year. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,880.00 (€ 3,307.04), 60% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 60 % übertroffen

Die Arbeit Hand in Hand No.1 von Quentin Blake wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.880,00 (€ 3.307,04) und damit 60% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
