Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Quentin Blake achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in October this year. In the Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration auction, the work An Audience of Ducks sold for GBP 4,480.00 (€ 5,144.28) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Quentin Blake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Quentin Blake erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration wurde die Arbeit An Audience of Ducks für GBP 4.480,00 (€ 5.144,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Quentin Blake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
