Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Wild Man of the Wood by Quentin Blake was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 1,664.00 (€ 1,910.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Wild Man of the Wood von Quentin Blake kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.664,00 (€ 1.910,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
