In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, which included the work Out for a Walk by Quentin Blake. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,480.00 (€ 5,144.28), 49% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Quentin Blake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 49 % übertroffen

Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Out for a Walk von Quentin Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.480,00 (€ 5.144,28) und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Quentin Blake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
