Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, which included the work Wading Downstream No.3 by Quentin Blake. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,520.00 (€ 4,041.94), 17% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Quentin Blake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Wading Downstream No.3 von Quentin Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.520,00 (€ 4.041,94) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Quentin Blake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
