Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Quentin Blake achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2021. In the Quentin Blake: New Drawings 2021 auction, the work Hastings Flagship School poster artwork #8 sold for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,640.09) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Quentin Blake erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Quentin Blake: New Drawings 2021 wurde die Arbeit Hastings Flagship School poster artwork #8 für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.640,09) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
