This artwork by Quentin Blake achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2018. In the Quentin Blake: A Retrospective auction, the work The Giraffe with his extendable neck sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,083.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Quentin Blake erzielte im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Quentin Blake: A Retrospective wurde die Arbeit The Giraffe with his extendable neck für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.083,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
