This artwork by Rebecca Horn achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2016. In the Bound to Fail auction, the work Die Kleine Witwe, Schwarzer Federflügel (The Little Widow, Black Feathers) sold for USD 118,750.00 (€ 106,645.71) - well above the upper estimate of USD 60,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Rebecca Horn; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ohne Titel sold at auction in December 2017 with the realized price of EUR 124,000.00.
