In August this year Bruun Rasmussen held the auction Art on paper, which included the work The Flight into Egypt; Crossing a Brook by Rembrandt van Rijn. The »bidding war« ended at DKK 14,500.00 (€ 1,945.11), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Rembrandt van Rijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar in December 2000 with an auction result of GBP 19,803,750.00 (€ 31,547,196.55).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bruun Rasmussen die Auktion Art on paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Flight into Egypt; Crossing a Brook von Rembrandt van Rijn zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von DKK 14.500,00 (€ 1.945,11) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Rembrandt van Rijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, aged 62, perhaps Aeltje Pietersdr. Uylenburgh, wife of Johannes Cornelisz. Sylvius, half-length, in black costume and a cap and collar im Dezember 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 19.803.750,00 (€ 31.547.196,55).
