Auction result well in line with expectations
In June last year Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction, which included the work La Saveur des larmes by René Magritte. The price achieved of GBP 1,608,000.00 (€ 1,868,038.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by René Magritte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L’empire des lumières in March last year with an auction result of GBP 59,422,000.00 (€ 70,451,468.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Saveur des larmes von René Magritte zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.608.000,00 (€ 1.868.038,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von René Magritte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L’empire des lumières im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 59.422.000,00 (€ 70.451.468,85).
