Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Marlene Dietrich, turban by Dior, the Ritz, Paris, August 1955 by Richard Avedon was auctioned at Christies in New York in April last year. It achieved a price of USD 17,640.00 (€ 16,741.01), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Richard Avedon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Beatles Portfolio: John Lennon, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and Paul McCartney, London in November last year with an auction result of GBP 809,000.00 (€ 937,446.28).
