Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2021 Christies in New York held the auction 21st Century Evening Sale, which included the work Untitled (Cowboy) by Richard Prince. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,030,000.00 (€ 2,684,504.30), 21% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Richard Prince - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Runaway Nurse, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 93,986,000.00 (€ 10,209,316.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion 21st Century Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Cowboy) von Richard Prince zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.030.000,00 (€ 2.684.504,30) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Richard Prince mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Runaway Nurse beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 93.986.000,00 (€ 10.209.316,51) versteigert wurde.
