Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction Bound to Fail, which included this untitled work by Robert Morris. The price achieved of USD 293,000.00 (€ 263,134.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Robert Morris - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2010 for USD 1,258,500.00 (€ 965,403.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Bound to Fail durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Robert Morris zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 293.000,00 (€ 263.134,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Robert Morris mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2010 für USD 1.258.500,00 (€ 965.403,50) versteigert wurde.
