In May 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Les toits rouges by Robert Pinchon. The auction ended at the price of USD 60,000.00 (€ 48,527.98), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Other works by Robert Pinchon have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in May last year the work Le bassin aux nymphéas au jardin des plantes à Rouen was auctioned for USD 73,080.00 (€ 68,101.76).
