Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection, which included the work 'In the Box - Horizontal' by Ruth Bernhard. The price achieved of USD 9,450.00 (€ 7,726.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ruth Bernhard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Ruth Bernhard', which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs from the Ginny Williams Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'In the Box - Horizontal' von Ruth Bernhard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 7.726,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ruth Bernhard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Ruth Bernhard' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68) versteigert wurde.
