Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Nude and Shadow by Ruth Bernhard for USD 882.00 (€ 743.43). This price was achieved in the auction Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ruth Bernhard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Ruth Bernhard' in October 2007 with an auction result of USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juli 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Nude and Shadow von Ruth Bernhard für USD 882,00 (€ 743,43) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Bette Davis Eyes and Other Natural Phenomena: Photographs at No Reserve bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ruth Bernhard erzielen.
