Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vase de lys sur fond marron (Vase of Lilies with Red Ground) by Sanyu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 100,000,000.00 – 150,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 100,325,000.00 (€ 11,363,902.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sanyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Five Nudes, which sold at auction in November 2019 for HKD 303,985,000.00 (€ 35,256,632.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Vase de lys sur fond marron (Vase of Lilies with Red Ground) von Sanyu kam im Dezember 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 100.000.000,00 – 150.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 100.325.000,00 (€ 11.363.902,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Sanyu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Five Nudes beobachtet, die im November 2019 für HKD 303.985.000,00 (€ 35.256.632,18) versteigert wurde.
