Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Nubian Village by Seif Wanly was sold in the International Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Dubai in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 34,600.00 (€ 22,225.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Seif Wanly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March last year with an auction result of GBP 94,500.00 (€ 112,040.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Nubian Village von Seif Wanly wurde im April 2008 in der Auktion International Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in Dubai versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 34.600,00 (€ 22.225,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Seif Wanly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 94.500,00 (€ 112.040,39).
