Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work River Drinjača, Bosnia by Simon Norfolk was auctioned at Phillips in London in May 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,423.41). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Simon Norfolk achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 16,624.78).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit River Drinjača, Bosnia von Simon Norfolk im Mai 2018 bei Phillips in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.423,41) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Simon Norfolk erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Former Teahouse in a park next to the Afghan Exhibition of Economic and Social Achievements in the Shah Shahid district of Kabul im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 16.624,78).
