This artwork by Quentin Blake achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in May last year. In the Quentin Blake Draws Hope for Ukraine auction, the work Birds in Yellow and Blue No.6 (unframed) sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,117.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Quentin Blake have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Quentin Blake erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Quentin Blake Draws Hope for Ukraine wurde die Arbeit Birds in Yellow and Blue No.6 (unframed) für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.117,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Quentin Blake auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
