Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In October this year Bonhams in London held the auction Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration, which included the work Reading in a Tree by Quentin Blake. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,304.00 (€ 2,645.63), 15% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Quentin Blake achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand High Witch in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 35,000.00 (€ 39,242.70).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Making a MarkA Fundraising Sale for the Quentin Blake Centre for Illustration durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reading in a Tree von Quentin Blake zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.304,00 (€ 2.645,63) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Quentin Blake erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Grand High Witch im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 35.000,00 (€ 39.242,70).
