A top price for Roland Penrose - as previously expected
In February 2018 Christies in London held the auction The Art of the Surreal Evening Sale, which included the work Artifact by Roland Penrose. It changed hands for a price of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,722.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Artifact is the most expensive artwork by Roland Penrose that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Februar 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Art of the Surreal Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Artifact von Roland Penrose zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 84.722,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Artifact das teuerste Kunstwerk von Roland Penrose, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
