Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lighthouses by Roland Penrose was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art auction at Christies in London in July 2015. The price achieved of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,658.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Roland Penrose achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Artifact in February 2018 with an auction result of GBP 75,000.00 (€ 84,722.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Lighthouses von Roland Penrose wurde im Juli 2015 in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.658,12) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Roland Penrose erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Artifact im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 75.000,00 (€ 84.722,79).
