Upper estimate price exceeded by 35%
The work Pop and Society by Slim Aarons was sold in the New Now: The Katayama Collection auction at Phillips in New York in September 2017. It achieved a price of USD 1,625 (€ 1,376), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Slim Aarons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poolside Gossip, 1970 in April this year with an auction result of USD 40,320 (€ 38,265).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35% übertroffen
Die Arbeit Pop and Society von Slim Aarons wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion New Now: The Katayama Collection bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 1.625 (€ 1.376) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Slim Aarons erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poolside Gossip, 1970 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320 (€ 38.265).
