Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work Children at Mrs William de Rham's Dancing Class held at the River Club, New York by Slim Aarons for GBP 756 (€ 880). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Phillips in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 800 – 1,200 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Slim Aarons achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poolside Gossip, 1970 in April this year with an auction result of USD 40,320 (€ 38,265).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Children at Mrs William de Rham's Dancing Class held at the River Club, New York von Slim Aarons für GBP 756 (€ 880) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Phillips in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800 – 1.200. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Slim Aarons erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poolside Gossip, 1970 im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 40.320 (€ 38.265).
