Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Song Ling achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2011. In the Contemporary Asian Art auction, the work People: Pipelines No. 2 sold for HKD 980,000.00 (€ 90,502.62) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 400,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Song Ling - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Meaningless Choice? No. 1 (Set Of Six), which sold at auction in October 2011 for HKD 2,420,000.00 (€ 223,486.05).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Song Ling erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Asian Art wurde die Arbeit People: Pipelines No. 2 für HKD 980.000,00 (€ 90.502,62) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 400.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Song Ling mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Meaningless Choice? No. 1 (Set Of Six) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2011 für HKD 2.420.000,00 (€ 223.486,05) versteigert wurde.
