This artwork by Susumu Kamijo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in May last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work Resurrection on the Hill sold for USD 107,100.00 (€ 99,804.31) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Susumu Kamijo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marching To The Sun, which sold at auction in November 2021 for HKD 2,142,000.00 (€ 238,168.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Susumu Kamijo erzielte im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit Resurrection on the Hill für USD 107.100,00 (€ 99.804,31) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Susumu Kamijo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marching To The Sun beobachtet, die im November 2021 für HKD 2.142.000,00 (€ 238.168,69) versteigert wurde.
