Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Death (Black); & Death (Red) by Takashi Murakami. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 2,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,066.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Takashi Murakami achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work My Lonesome Cowboy in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 15,161,000.00 (€ 9,743,573.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Death (Black); & Death (Red) von Takashi Murakami zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 2.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.250,00 (€ 1.066,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Takashi Murakami erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit My Lonesome Cowboy im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.161.000,00 (€ 9.743.573,26).
