Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Tough Day: Gymnastics by Thierry Bouet was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 23,750.00 (€ 2,415.83). Other works by Thierry Bouet have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2008 by the work Tough Day: Weight Lifting at HKD 27,500.00 (€ 2,797.27).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit Tough Day: Gymnastics von Thierry Bouet im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 23.750,00 (€ 2.415,83) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Thierry Bouet wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2008 die Arbeit Tough Day: Weight Lifting mit HKD 27.500,00 (€ 2.797,27).
