Upper estimate price exceeded by 80 %.
This artwork by Thomas Ruff achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Cologne in November 2021. In the Contemporary Passions auction, the work without title sold for EUR 1,260.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Ruff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jpeg pt01 in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 197,000.00 (€ 230,864.55).
