Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2021 Sothebys in Cologne held the auction Contemporary Passions, which included the work Chess (Blue) by Victor Vasarely. The price achieved of EUR 1,512.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor Vasarely achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Altaï Iii in February 2010 with an auction result of GBP 565,250.00 (€ 630,588.93).
