In February 2014 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Moonrise at Dusk by Walter Launt Palmer. The »bidding war« ended at USD 87,500.00 (€ 63,378.24), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Launt Palmer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Winter Forest, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 198,000.00 (€ 147,179.07).

Im Februar 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Moonrise at Dusk von Walter Launt Palmer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 63.378,24) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Launt Palmer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Winter Forest beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 198.000,00 (€ 147.179,07) versteigert wurde.
