This artwork by Wang Fangyu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2016. In the Fine Chinese Paintings auction, the work Calligraphy: Phoenix sold for USD 3,500.00 (€ 3,114.43) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Fangyu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cold Mountain, which sold at auction in September 2020 for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,400.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Wang Fangyu erzielte im September 2016 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy: Phoenix für USD 3.500,00 (€ 3.114,43) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Fangyu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cold Mountain beobachtet, die im September 2020 für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.400,41) versteigert wurde.
