Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the Train by Wang Yin was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Shanghai in September 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CNY 1,100,000.00 – 2,100,000.00, the actual price achieved of CNY 1,320,000.00 (€ 167,947.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Yin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April 2021 for HKD 3,840,000.00 (€ 411,132.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the Train von Wang Yin wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Shanghai versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CNY 1.100.000,00 – 2.100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CNY 1.320.000,00 (€ 167.947,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Yin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im April 2021 für HKD 3.840.000,00 (€ 411.132,17) versteigert wurde.
