Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Gun I, New York, 1955 by William Klein. Here, the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 5,292.00 (€ 5,327.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Klein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 114,068.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gun I, New York, 1955 von William Klein zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 5.292,00 (€ 5.327,16) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Klein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Smoke And Veil, Paris, 1958 (Vogue) im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 114.068,44).
