Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Phillips in London held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, which included the work Belgian Flag by William Nelson Copley. The price achieved of GBP 63,000.00 (€ 74,693.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Nelson Copley have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gingham Girls in May last year with an auction result of USD 579,600.00 (€ 540,117.42).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian Flag von William Nelson Copley zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 74.693,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Nelson Copley auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gingham Girls im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 579.600,00 (€ 540.117,42).
