The work Butterfly by Yayoi Kusama was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. It achieved a price of HKD 4,662,000.00 (€ 558,792.38), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 55%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 55 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Butterfly von Yayoi Kusama kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 4.662.000,00 (€ 558.792,38) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 55%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
