In February 2007 Christies in Dubai held the auction International Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Mealama, Fifi Abdou by Youssef Nabil. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,977.32), 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Youssef Nabil have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Maelema- Fifi Abdo in October 2010 with an auction result of USD 91,300.00 (€ 65,711.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Februar 2007 führte Christies in Dubai die Auktion International Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mealama, Fifi Abdou von Youssef Nabil zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.977,32) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Youssef Nabil auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Maelema- Fifi Abdo im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 91.300,00 (€ 65.711,82).
