Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Bamboo Grove by Yu Ben was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 21,459.32). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yu Ben - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Catch, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 43,701.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Bamboo Grove von Yu Ben im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 21.459,32) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Yu Ben mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Catch beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 43.701,80) versteigert wurde.
