Swab is considered an important contemporary art fair in Barcelona, bringing together up to 80 galleries from the international scene and acting as a cultural meeting point on a global scale. From 07 to 10 October 2021, at the Pabellón de Italia, a number of established national and international emerging talents will come together to define the future of the art market. The selection committee, contributing curators and fair team are committed to the most current ideas in the international art scene, reflecting the latest trends and giving visibility to young and innovative projects.
Founded by architect and collector Joaquín Diez-Cascón in 2006, Swab is an independent project launched as an experimental platform for new artistic ideas. In its 14th edition in 2021, the fair remains true to its mission of supporting spaces and disciplines that are changing the course of the art scene. In the face of the climate crisis, the event is committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly cultural production by minimising disposable products and partnering with companies that work with recycled and recyclable materials.
