Whether with a few or thousands of fine lines: With drawings, artists can capture observations and stories in a matter of seconds or intensive detail work. But the medium has many more facets to offer: In the exhibition Yet Another Morning – Drawing in the Moderna Museet Collection, various techniques are presented and dialogs between drawing and sculpture, video and photographic art are opened up. The show also demonstrates that drawings are not bound to pen and paper, but can consist of a wide range of materials. The artists on show explore diverse themes such as self-observation, everyday life, emotions, thoughts and social criticism. »Most artists draw and sketch. It is a timeless and often immediate way of expressing yourself. Drawing also has the ability to move freely across cultural and language barriers since almost anyone can achieve something with a pen and paper«, explains curator Annika Gunnarsson. The exhibition at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm will run for a year from February 22, 2025 until May 10, 2026.
As part of the InterNationalgalerie series, the Alte Nationalgalerie invites other institutions to exhibit in its own spaces. Kicking off the series on June 18 is the National Museum in Warsaw with the exhibition Inventing Myths.
Through June 27, Elvira Flamm is showcasing three works from her series Ikonen ohne Namen (Icons without Names) in the Made in Berlin Art Award 2026 exhibition. She was selected as one of 20 artists for the show at the BBA Gallery.
