For the 24th time, one of the largest fairs for photography is making its way to Paris. Internationality and artistic as well as social topicality are the claims of the organizers: two thirds of the participating galleries come to Paris from abroad and events such as numerous panel discussions and signing sessions, in which more than 300 artists participate, ensure an exchange of ideas outside the artworks. Of great importance to the organizers is the website EllesxParisPhoto.com, which for the past year has given women photographers in particular another opportunity to present their work.
Paris Photo offers its usual diverse program, including 17 solo and eight duo shows by leading photographers from around the world, the Curiosa Sector for emerging artists, and Carte Blanche, in which four art students are allowed to exhibit exclusively. These sections are complemented by various smaller exhibitions featuring individual photographers such as Sebastião Salgado and Zoë Ghertner. Paris Photo can also be discovered in the Online Viewing Room.
