The traditional auction house Sotheby's announces an online auction of Impressionist and Modern Art for its New York branch. On 17 September 2021, prospective buyers can participate in the auction from 6 p.m. CET (equivalent to 12:00 a.m. EDT), which promises an exciting selection of paintings, works on paper as well as sculptures by important artists of the 19th and 20th centuries.

Already a groundbreaking auctioneer, Sotheby's has repeatedly broken records for the most outstanding paintings, sculptures and works on paper from the 19th century to the post-war period. In October 1958, for example, the company pioneered the modern auction market with the Goldschmidt Collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art, and in May 2019 it set a record for Impressionist art with the sale of Claude Monet's Meules for US$111 million.Art.Salon
