The installations by Norwegian artist Rune Guneriussen (*1977) combine forms inspired by nature with light art. The works, often made of wood, are subsequently immortalized in atmospheric photographs. In the current series of photographs, Rune Guneriussen − Lights go out, on view at Museum Kunst der Westküste (MKdW) on Föhr from January 30 to June 12, 2022, the artist addresses his personal perception of man's alienation from nature.
What makes it special is that some of Guneriussen's installations were created on Föhr, which is why the exhibition is another contribution to the Made on Föhr series, which started with the first show in February 2021. As part of the MKdW's Artist-in-Residence program, to which artists are invited to spend time working on Föhr at the museum's initiative, Guneriussen created the first three works in his series Rune Guneriussen − Lights go out in 2018. It now consists of 29 large-format photographs, a selection of which are now being presented at the MKdW in Guneriussen's first solo museum exhibition in Germany.
