She paints to bring order to chaos: the paintings of artist Susanne Witzig follow a fixed structure, but are created intuitively. She applies geometric shapes, lines, circles and triangles with acrylic pens or sprays on a brightly colored background. The abstract paintings are an expression of deep-seated emotions and passion; the seemingly planned arrangement of shapes and colors is the result of an instinctive painting process. Witzig was awarded second place in the »Abstraction« category by the international jury of the Best Art Award on February 10 for the painting Trial by fire. The painting symbolizes the range of emotions we move back and forth between on a daily basis and the emotional challenges we face every day.

Painting has accompanied Susanne Witzig, who is taking part in the Art.Salon artist program, for decades; she has only been working as a full-time artist since 2022. For Witzig, who has suffered from a painful chronic illness since her youth, painting is an act of liberation with a therapeutic effect; she draws strength from it to deal with physical impairments and finds emotional support. Within a short space of time, the artist has achieved a remarkable reach in the German art scene with her unique paintings. One of her paintings currently adorns the cover of the latest issue of the art magazine »Kontur«, in which she is featured in an extensive report. The magazine is published three times a year with a print run of 15,000 copies each.Art.Salon
