The London Art Fair is THE art fair: Galleries from all over the world compete for one of the coveted exhibition spaces. Since its foundation in 1989 at London's Business Design Centre in Islington, where it is still held today, the fair has developed into the traditional meeting place of the art scene at the start of the year. Over 100 galleries and more than 1,000 modern and contemporary artists exhibit here. This year, the art fair runs from 18 to 22 January.

In addition to the gallery stands, visitors will find an extensive programme of live performances, immersive installations, talks and tours. Talks will address topics such as the role of museums today, millennials as a new generation of collectors and how to successfully run a virtual museum. As always, the already established curated programmes are in the mix. Encounters presents young artists and galleries, Photo50 current trends in photography and Platform artworks on a specific, annually changing theme. In 2023 it is Reframing the Muse.Art.Salon
