The Frieze fair attracts visitors to London again

From October 13 to 17, 2021, the Frieze London and Frieze Masters fairs will once again attract art collectors from all over the world to London's Regent's Park. Sculptures have already been on display there free of charge since September in the course of Frieze Sculpture.

The world's largest galleries gather at Frieze London to once again present contemporary art stars as well as emerging artists and to bring their works into dialogue. Curators from around the world advise the fair's organizers on the various sections, which this year have been joined by another, Unworlding, which, curated by Cedric Fauq, will feature artworks that address the decay of our contemporary world.

Collectors of art from the Old Masters to the end of the 20th century will get their money's worth at the concurrent Frieze Masters fair. In addition to the return of the successful Spotlight section, which offers works of the avant-garde from all over the world, there is also a new section here: Stand Out, curated by Luke Syson, is dedicated to design, in that works of all media that are usually described as »decorative« or »functional« but are at the same time sculpturally and conceptually exceptional are elevated to art status here and thus receive a considerable boost - at least if collectors accept this reinterpretation.

As early as September, numerous sculptures dominate Regent's Park, which can be viewed free of charge until October 31. Also in September, the Frieze Artist Award was given to Berlin-based artist Sung Tieu. Tieu's film Moving Target Shadow Detection (2021) extends her work on psychological and acoustic warfare. This work focuses on the exploration of the »Havana Syndrome«. The premiere will be on October 15, after which the film will be available online at frieze.com.Art.Salon
