»The first art fair to take place in a work of art«: this is how the Knokke Art Fair, which is held in Belgium's largest casino, describes itself. A famous mural by René Magritte creates a unique ambience there. This year, extraordinary works of art will once again be on display from August 9 to 17.

THE VAULT JEAN PAUL KALA - Angel - 110 x 76 x 84 cm - Aluminium - Edition original - 2024
This summer, the Knokke Art Fair celebrates its 50th edition, underlining its status as a leading art fair. With a mix of modern and contemporary art, top international galleries and a look into the past, this anniversary edition will be a highlight for the art scene. The fair in the Belgian town of Knokke has been held in the Grand Casino Knokke for several years. The building, located on the beach, was designed by Léon Stynen (1899-1990), inspired by Art Deco, and opened in 1930. One of the rooms in which the works of art are presented was redesigned by René Magritte with a gigantic 360° mural measuring 72 meters in length. The Knokke Art Fair, described as the »first art fair to take place in a work of art«, runs this year from August 9 to 17.
The theme of the anniversary edition of the Knokke Art Fair is »Dialogue between past and present«. With a carefully curated selection, the relationships between the various art movements and eras will be highlighted. The fair serves not only as an exhibition platform, but also as a place of exchange between art lovers and galleries. Visitors can expect to see works by famous artists such as Hans Hartung, Jeff Koons and Bernard Buffet.
