Caravaggio, who was born in 1968, describes his sculptures and installations, which are often located directly on the floor and are intended to trigger memories of experiences of nature, as essentialist. Everydayness is linked to the timelessness of nature, as already suggested by the choice of materials, which range from sugar and fishing line to marble and wood.

Around 20 works from the years 2001 to 2021 have been assembled for »When Nature Was Young« from the œuvre of Caravaggio, who always gives his works metaphorical titles such as Moon Phases Redirecting Space. Cognitive contemplation is the focus for Caravaggio.

Measured by the number of works on display, the small exhibition thus allows the necessary intensive, sensual engagement with each individual work. It was curated by Dr. Holger Kube Ventura, the director of the Kunstmuseum Reutlingen | konkret.Art.Salon
