Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Dooms Day Book by Abanindranath Tagore was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2013. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,388.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Abanindranath Tagore achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Siva-Simantini) in September 2013 with an auction result of USD 555,750.00 (€ 410,602.14).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Dooms Day Book von Abanindranath Tagore kam im September 2013 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.388,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Abanindranath Tagore erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Siva-Simantini) im September 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 555.750,00 (€ 410.602,14).
